A few weeks ago, I had my first catch-up with Karthik, a great friend of mine, in a while. Just over a year ago we went (with a group of others) backpacking through South America together – from the sweeping, sweaty streets of Rio to the romantic and referential city-scape of Buenos Aires at 4am, from the arid, scorching desert sun of the salt flats of Bolivia to being utterly soaked at Devil's Throat at Iguazu Falls, we covered a lot of ground and came out of the experience closer than ever.
Today, we met at a (mostly travel) bookstore just west of Union Square, called Idlewild, to go through guidebooks in preparation for our next big adventure together: Greece.
In addition to having a really great table to sit at, they teach language courses throughout the year, in French, Spanish, Italian, and (newly-introduced) German.
After settling on very few details for our trip, we decided it was time for brunch at Tbsp. & Spoon a neighboring block away. Perfect Sunday.
