Braving the 2°F depths of winter's stranglehold over NYC yesterday, my friend Esther and I made our way to Chinatown for this year's Lunar New Year parade, snagging a front row view of the festivities. Confetti, banners, flags, ribbons, fans, lions, and monkeys EVERYWHERE!
Between groups in the parade it got so insanely cold that I physically lost the ability to snap photos. At one point, I was blowing hot air into my gloves every five minutes until I eventually bowed out and took respite in a Chase bank lobby. But we came and mostly conquered, seeing the parade through to its 2-and-a-half-hour-later finish. The cherry on top of a wonderful morning was dimsum at Ping's.
Hope you enjoy!
